The Water Blue difference

Kanto feels different here.

The same region at heart, with new scenery, company for the road and more reasons to stop and look around.

01 / A fresh visual identity

Kanto, redrawn with care.

Water Blue reworks the look of FireRed’s towns, routes and interiors. Pallet Town is filled with foliage and flowers; Viridian’s streets have a brighter identity; caves and Gyms have their own atmosphere.

The familiar journey is still the starting point. The difference is in the scenery you pass, the places you enter and the details that make you pause.

02 / Company for every step

Your Pokemon comes along.

The follower system lets a Pokemon accompany you in the overworld. Your partner becomes a visible part of the journey, not just a name on the party screen.

Begin with Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle at Professor Oak’s laboratory, then head out together. The companion system is one of Water Blue’s most personal changes.

03 / More moments between battles

Familiar faces. Fresh encounters.

New events are woven into the Kanto structure. Meetings with familiar characters and moments around places such as Pewter’s museum give you reasons to explore beyond the next battle.

Water Blue keeps the core adventure recognizable while changing how individual stops unfold. We’ve kept this tour light on story details so you can discover those encounters yourself.

04 / Look a little closer

A reason to check the grass.

Kanto and Johto Pokemon are part of the project’s expanded catching roster. Tools such as the Poke Radar add another reason to look around as you travel.

The current beta covers Pallet Town through Cerulean City. The wider roster should not be read as a promise that every Pokemon can be found within this limited story scope.

05 / Still a GBA adventure

A refreshed way to play.

Reworked menus, battle presentation and small exploration improvements sit alongside the environmental changes. The game remains a Game Boy Advance project built from FireRed.

The result is a familiar generation of Pokemon with its own presentation. Use a GBA emulator for your platform to play the current build.

06 / One download, three choices

Start in your language.

English, Spanish and Portuguese are included in the same ROM. The opening language-selection screen lets you choose before beginning the adventure.

There is no separate language download to hunt down. Beta 1.4 ML focuses primarily on translation fixes while retaining the current beta’s story progression.
